Deadly Days: Roadtrip Achievements & Completion Guide

How Many Achievements Are There?

Deadly Days: Roadtrip achievements give you 55 Steam goals to chase, from collecting an apple to completing the encyclopedia. Some achievements award apples or duct tape at base, giving your next road trip a little more support. Start with regular runs and permanent upgrades, then build toward the specialized combat challenges and collection goals.

Version 1.0 launched on October 29, 2026, adding more than 30 achievements. Existing Early Access saves work in 1.0, and loading an older save can trigger multiple achievement unlocks.

The tables below preserve internal achievement IDs so similarly named crafting, item, and HQ targets remain distinct. Percentages show global unlock rates.

Early Progression and Base Upgrades

Your opening runs introduce the systems that support the longer achievement hunt: collecting resources, expanding your backpack, repairing equipment, and investing in permanent upgrades.

repair_item21.4%
upgrade_item21.1%
first_onetime_unlock20.9%

A few useful milestones to keep in mind:

  • collect_an_apple has a 93.7% unlock rate.
  • win_first_run sits at 74.9%.
  • unlock_coffee_shop is substantially rarer at 8.5%.

Prioritize fuel and a safe return to the bus. Enemy numbers and strength increase over time, so lingering for another loot spot adds pressure to the trip.

Back at base, spend earned resources on permanent upgrades and new content. Repair broken equipment before relying on it, and merge identical items of the same rarity to upgrade them.

Once you have access to coffee, use it when survival is holding back your progress. It increases movement and looting speed and makes days slightly longer.

Bosses, Quests, and HQ Progression

Successful runs move the larger campaign forward. Defeating bosses unlocks additional enemies, bosses, and biomes, while completed runs provide bomb parts for the attack on MKing headquarters.

Keep pushing successful routes while developing your base. That advances the bomb objective and opens more encounters without requiring every run to serve a narrow challenge.

Laz joined the roster as the fifth final boss in version 1.0. Prepare your backpack before committing to the showdown: arrange weapons and support items so their adjacency effects work together, and use available merges and crafting opportunities to strengthen the loadout.

For character variety, rescue and recruit survivors along the way. Each brings a different playstyle and unique items, giving you more options for later build challenges.

Crafting, Item Synergies, and Character Goals

Inventory management carries much of the progression. Weapons and gear occupy limited space, while placement determines which effects reach which items.

Read each item’s selectors before settling its position. Filling an empty space helps less than placing a support item where its effects reach the weapons you are building around.

Use the workbench’s recipe sorting to inspect what you can craft. In version 1.0, it also displays your ingredient counts and their rarities. The Hammer offers another upgrade tool: at day’s end, it raises marked items by one rarity, up to its own rarity.

Several additions offer specific ways to experiment:

  • Hand Mirror: Copies effects hitting a marked item onto the marked item opposite it.
  • Cogwheel: Links marked triggerable items into chains, with each item triggering once per chain.
  • Plasma Hand: Provides unlimited extra hands for equipping weapons.
  • Secret Sauce: Adds poison damage to marked weapons and items, but disables marked food items.

Inspect merchant stops for the Shady Merchant. He has a 50% chance to wait behind the wagon at merchant stops. From day 4, a one-day route is guaranteed to include him once per run, alongside additional random appearances.

The Vampire starts with bats instead of a weapon and gains another bat each level. Their attacks deal melee damage and have a chance to steal life, so pair them with items that support melee effects.

Advanced Combat and Collection Checklist

These goals include damage milestones, restricted loadouts, Endless progression, and broad collection targets.

For damage-focused attempts, build around interacting effects and inspect your weapon tooltips. Version 1.0 displays critical chance and critical damage, and critical chance above 100% can produce higher critical tiers. Each additional full 100% adds the critical-damage bonus again; the remaining chance can roll another tier.

Use Endless Mode to keep developing a build beyond the normal route. Keep its achievement attempt separate from trips dedicated to completing a standard run or advancing the HQ objective.

For memo collection, watch for the pickup notification and review the investigation board. Unseen memos display an attention bubble there.

Version 1.0 Rules That Affect Achievement Hunting

Keep dedicated achievement attempts in regular runs. Version 1.0 fixed a bug that occasionally allowed Weekly Challenges to advance achievements. Weekly Challenges also always run at MKing Response Level 5.

Other changes affect how you prepare:

  • Some achievements award apples or duct tape at base.
  • Harder achievements multiply the run rating, with achievement icons appearing in the rating rows.
  • Bosses drop +1 duct tape from MKing Response Level 3 and +2 from level 5.
  • Round-end apple rewards receive a +5% bonus per response level.
  • Losing or abandoning a run before its first boss victory lowers MKing Response Level by 1.

Co-op also gained cross-backpack synergies. Selectors can mark equipment in the other player’s backpack, so coordinate placement when planning a shared build.

100% Completion Order

Use this order to organize the hunt around the game’s progression:

  1. Load your existing save if you played Early Access. Let any carried-over achievement unlocks appear before choosing your next target.
  2. Work through the basic resource and inventory milestones. Collect apples and duct tape, repair equipment, merge matching items, and explore base upgrades.
  3. Complete regular runs and advance the bomb objective. Continue opening bosses, biomes, and survivor options.
  4. Develop crafting and synergy goals. Inspect recipes, ingredient rarities, selectors, and character-specific equipment.
  5. Dedicate runs to specialized combat targets. Choose one objective and arrange your backpack around it.
  6. Take a developed build into Endless Mode. Focus that attempt on continued scaling.
  7. Finish the remaining collection checklist. Review recipes, item-win targets, encyclopedia entries, and memos, then select your next trip around an outstanding goal.
