What Is the Rocket Launcher Recipe?
The Deadly Days: Roadtrip rocket launcher recipe requires a blue Balloon Pump, a blue Hunting Rifle, and a green Grenade. Those ingredient colors matter when you’re deciding which loot to keep, upgrade, or sell. Set these pieces aside before spending your scrap on another weapon project.
| Ingredient | Required color |
|---|---|
| Balloon Pump | Blue |
| Hunting Rifle | Blue |
| Grenade | Green |
Check all three ingredients together before heading into another stop. Having the right item names alone doesn’t complete the shopping list; compare their rarities with the recipe, too.

Collect the Ingredients Without Crowding Your Build
Watch loot rewards and merchant inventories for missing components. When a shop offers an ingredient at the required color, compare its price with the scrap you still need for repairs and backpack space.

Keep your shopping focused:
- Save the Hunting Rifle for crafting. Avoid selling it to fund an unrelated upgrade while you’re still pursuing the launcher.
- Upgrade the Balloon Pump toward blue. Keep matching copies available for merging rather than selling them automatically.
- Check the Grenade’s color before buying another. The recipe calls for green, so identify what you already have before spending scrap.
- Keep enough backpack space for your active build. Carrying ingredients shouldn’t force you to dismantle the weapon and support items getting you through the current stop.
Commit to one crafting target when storage gets tight. The Minigun uses a different ingredient set, and collecting both projects at once puts more pressure on your available space and scrap.
The Minigun requires a blue AK-47, a blue SMG, and a blue magazine. Keep that separate shopping list in mind when choosing between loot rewards. If you switch your crafting target, reassess which components you’re keeping before buying another ingredient for the abandoned project.
Keep a working weapon equipped while you gather the remaining pieces. Don’t weaken your current damage setup just because you’re one ingredient away.
Backpack placement also affects your damage: weapons and gear can stack adjacency effects, so rearranging ingredients can change which bonuses reach your equipped weapons. Use Auto Equip when reorganizing; version 1.0 places items in the best available opening, including consideration for synergies. Inspect the resulting arrangement before committing more space to spare components.
Keep fuel collection moving while you search for ingredients. Each stop requires enough fuel to get the bus rolling again, and you choose whether to push for more loot or extract. Prepare the bus before extending a scavenging trip. Don’t let a missing Hunting Rifle distract you from the fuel needed to leave.
For preparation between trips, the coffee stand added in version 1.0 offers coffee that starts your next run with increased movement and loot speed. It also makes days a little longer. Grab a cup before heading back out if surviving long enough to collect your remaining components is the immediate problem.
Check the Workbench and Upgrade Options
Since the October 29, 2026, version 1.0 update, the workbench recipe list prioritizes recipes you can craft and displays ingredient counts and rarities. Use that display to identify the exact component holding up your launcher.

Before crafting:
- Find the Rocket Launcher entry at the workbench.
- Compare its requirements with your Balloon Pump, Hunting Rifle, and Grenade.
- Check both the ingredient counts and their displayed rarities.
- Review your backpack arrangement so you can reorganize your build around the finished weapon.
Version 1.0 also introduced the Hammer, which upgrades marked items by one rarity at the end of the day, capped at the Hammer’s own rarity. If you’re using one to prepare ingredients, check its rarity and which items it marks before relying on that overnight upgrade.
The Lottery Ticket, another version 1.0 addition, has a chance to let crafting leave an ingredient unconsumed. It also offers chances for free rerolls and repairs. Assemble the complete recipe before counting on that benefit; the ingredient-saving effect is chance-based. Keep its other function in mind, too: it can revive you on death, destroying the ticket in the process.
