Pizza Launcher Recipe and Effect

The Deadly Days: Roadtrip p.i.z.z.a. launcher takes more planning than a single weapon craft. Its September 2025 Early Access recipe required two Rocket Launchers plus a Pizza, making the second launcher an important part of your shopping list. Keep that requirement in mind before filling your backpack with ingredients for unrelated weapons.

That Early Access version also generated one Pizza Slice every 1,500 shots. The slice generation gives the weapon another purpose beyond attacking, but that shot requirement makes firing frequency relevant.

Build toward the complete recipe while keeping enough firepower to survive. Chasing ingredients does little for your run if the weapons you have equipped cannot get you through the next stop.

Gather the Rocket Launcher Ingredients

Each Rocket Launcher requires the following ingredients:

IngredientRequired color
Balloon PumpBlue
Hunting RifleBlue
GrenadeGreen

Collect the correct colors before committing space to the recipe. A Hunting Rifle alone does not finish the craft if it has not reached the required rarity.

Use the workbench recipe list to organize the hunt. Since version 1.0, it sorts recipes by what you can craft and displays both your ingredient counts and their rarities. Check that screen before selling spare components or buying another weapon.

Keep the two crafting stages separate in your inventory planning:

  • Gather the Balloon Pump, Hunting Rifle, and Grenade for a Rocket Launcher.
  • Track your remaining launcher components alongside the Pizza.
  • Keep checking the workbench as ingredients arrive.

Avoid selling a required component simply to repair an unrelated item. Compare the immediate combat benefit against the crafting progress you would lose.

Support the Launcher Without Sacrificing Survival

Extra projectiles and chaining were effective Rocket Launcher upgrades in September 2025 Early Access. Build around those interactions when pursuing that version’s Pizza Launcher setup.

Backpack placement matters throughout the process. Weapons and support items occupy limited space, and their adjacency effects can strengthen your equipped weapons. Rearrange the bag after crafting so your support items still mark the intended weapon.

Auto Equip accounts for synergies in version 1.0. Use it to find an initial placement, then inspect the marked items yourself before continuing.

Keep movement and extraction in the build, too. Each stop requires fuel before the bus can leave, and staying longer means choosing more loot over an earlier escape. Collect the fuel you need before chasing an optional ingredient across a crowded map.

For a longer crafting attempt, consider Endless Mode once your build can handle continued scaling. Use Copy Shop opportunities while working toward additional launchers; this was also a route to multiple Pizza Launchers during Early Access.

Version 1.0 Changes That Matter to This Build

The October 29, 2026 version 1.0 update fixed ranged weapons firing below their stated rate at some frame rates. Previously, a weapon rated at 50 shots per second could fire only about 30 at 60 fps.

Version 1.0 also changed merged projectiles so they deal their full damage.

The update also changed several interactions worth checking before arranging your support items:

  • Sheriff Star: Its reload bonus shots no longer consume ammo.
  • Critical hits: Each full additional 100% critical chance adds another critical-damage bonus, while the remaining chance can roll one higher tier.
  • Weapon tooltips: Critical chance and critical damage are now displayed.
  • Pizza: Its ability no longer stays inactive after a level-up powerup.

Read the weapon tooltip before adding more critical chance, and inspect your reload interactions when using Sheriff Star. Those details help you judge what each support item contributes before giving it another piece of your backpack.
